Biography

A native of Albany, NY, Dex Desjardins is a historian, scholar, sex worker, former Satanic clergy, motorcyclist, and all-around lovable dirtbag.

Dex joined The Satanic Temple (TST) in July 2015. In November 2016, he co-founded a community group for Satanists that in February 2018 became TST Albany Chapter (now, TST Albany Congregation). He served as Chapter Head, followed by a brief period serving as the Chapter's Media Liaison. He was appointed to TST's senior advisory body, the International Council, in March 2020.

Dex was a researcher, lesson writer, test developer, and lesson presenter for TST's ordination program. In November 2020, he was recruited into the newly-formed Ordination Council to help with the program's further development and administration. He was officially ordained by TST's Satanic Ministry as a Minister of Satan on March 25, 2021. He has performed marriages in upstate New York and in New Jersey.

In July 2022, Dex was appointed as a Media Relations Specialist for TST, granting him the authority to speak on behalf of The Satanic Temple to news outlets and other media platforms and organizations.

Dex frequently worked with high school and college students who are researching Satanism or TST, gave classroom presentations, assisted with academic papers, did public speaking engagements, and spoke on podcasts — typically with his partner, Chalice Blythe.

Dex will also appear in the documentary Exorcism in America, set to be released in 2024.

Dex is a sex worker of many years. He was co-owner of Albany-based swingers club, the Bacchus Society from 2007 to 2014. From 2020 to 2021, he collaborated with his partner and fellow sex worker, Chalice Blythe, in an independent porn project called Les Libertines. Due to health issues, Dex stepped away from his leadership and representation roles in TST in January 2024 and left TST ministry in May 2024.

In May 2024, Dex became a founding member of Satanic/occult community Order of the Black Moon.
